Scenic Hills, now serves children grades 2-5 with the advent of the new K-1 literacy center. Previously, both elementary schools served children from kindergarten through 4th grade
Affectionately known as merely "Sabold", the elementary school serves children in grades 2-5.
It is the public middle school of Springfield, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. Its grounds are currently under construction due to the K-1 center, and will soon only be occupied by grades 6-8.In September 2010 E.T.R will only be holding grades 6-8, because of the K-1 center being built. Principal Dan Tracy and Vice Principal Madaline O'Dowd run this fine establishment.
Springfield High School is the only public school in the Springfield-Morton collective community (Cardinal O'Hara being the parochial option in the township). The high school currently has around 1200 students enrolled and serves children in grades 9-12.
The Springfield Cougars compete in several varsity, sports each participating in the Central League. These sports include: football, ice hockey, baseball, field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, swimming, basketball, cheer-leading, wrestling, tennis, and golf.
Quite recently, the Cougars have turned around their previously failing football program beginning with the hiring of ex University of Virginia Quarterback and Downingtown East and West Chester Rustin Offensive Coordinator Dan Ellis as Head Coach in 2008, who left the program after leading the team to a 7-3 regular season record in 2010 and a school history first state playoff win. Ellis left the program to become head coach at West Chester East High School in order to fulfill familial obligations. To fill Ellis' place, Springfield promoted lineman coach Tom Kline, a long time colleague of Ellis', to Head Coach. Kline led the Cougars to a remarkable 8-2 regular season record only to lose the school's first home playoff match against Academy Park. However, this regular season output made it clear that the Cougars were not going to take a step back in their program's progress, and indeed would continue to build upon previous successes under Kline's administration.
Springfield High School allows their students to participate in any of the following musical programs: Orchestra, Band, Wind Ensemble, Competition Band, Parade Band, Field Band, Jazz Band, and the Pit Orchestra which performs the soundtrack for the school's annual musical.
The Springfield High School Orchestra is directed by euphonium player Kevin Cooper, who, until recently, led the school's music program. Cooper lost his role as head of the music department amid a controversial position rearrangement within the district's entire music program and it was only due to the efforts of many community activists that Cooper was allowed to continue to conduct the High School Orchestra. Cooper now directs the 3rd and 4th Grade Orchestra, the 8th Grade Orchestra and the High School Orchestra. The high school orchestra is known for its excellent cello section, a small 6 piece section that commands the rest of the ensemble
The Springfield Literacy Center project is complete. Now the district will begin planning the remodeling/replacement of Springfield High School.
